Sourdough Discard Crackers
Ingredients
3/4 cup All purpose flour/ Whole wheat flour
1/2 cup Butter
1/2 cup Unfed cold sourdough discard
1 tbsp Salt
1 tbsp Sugar
Directions
- Take all purpose flour/ whole wheat flour, add salt and sugar to it, mix well
- Cut cold butter into it. Rub with finger tips to get sand like texture
- Add cold unfed sourdough discard from the fridge to it and knead into a soft dough
- Wrap it in cling film and keep in fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour
- Pre-heat the oven at 180°C
- Take the dough out of the fridge, roll out the dough on lightly floured surface. Roll out of 1/8” thickness
- Place them on baking tray and brush lightly with egg and sprinkle herbs on top. Bake for 15 – 18 minutes till puffed up and golden in colour
- Cool on wire rack and store in an airtight bin. Cut out the shape with cookie cutter
Notes
- Do not use palms to mix in butter as it will warm it
